To obtain a private security guarding license, you must successfully complete a 70-hour training program. 

The Bureau de la sécurité privée(BSP) also recognizes other specific training courses, in accordance with article 112.1 of the Loi sur la sécurité privée (LSP). 

These alternative training courses are accepted provided they meet all the criteria established for their official recognition by the Minister of Public Safety

How much does the security guard training cost?
$475 with no taxes, all inclusive: a $200 deposit upon registration and a $275 balance payable at the end of the training. The price includes First Aid Certification approved by CNESST. A discount of $104 + tax applies if you already hold a valid, compliant and equivalent first aid certification.
How long is the training?
70 hours in total: 54 hours of security guard training and 16 hours of first aid and CPR. Three formats are available: 2 weeks during the day (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday), 3 weeks in the evening (5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday) or 4 weeks on weekends (9 a.m. to 7 p.m.).
